Atlantic Canadian singer/songwriter Carmel Mikol is poised to join the ranks of Canada’s great songwriters. With well-crafted songs and a laid-back performance style, Carmel has toured nationally, gaining fans and critical acclaim from coast to coast.
Her upcoming album “In My Bones” (03.30.10 release) was produced by Fred Lavery at the award-winning Lakewind Sound Studio (Cape Breton) and Scott Ferguson at Ferguson Music Productions (Halifax). Guided by folk/rock sensibility, the album features warm acoustics, catchy electric guitar and ethereal lap steel. The album is already garnering attention with “Sunny Days” winning a 2009 Independent Singer/Songwriter Award in the Folk Category (ISSA). “Sunny Days” is also featured on this year’s Atlantic Film Festival Music & Image Compilation album.
Carmel will showcase with a full band at the 2010 East Coast Music Awards. She previously showcased at the 2009 Molson Canadian Music Nova Scotia Music Week Conference and 2009 ECMA’s.
This year, Carmel travels to the US to play the 30-A Songwriters Festival in Seaside, FL. She will also tour across Canada on her “In My Bones” album release tour and re-join Kim Wempe for a duo singer/songwriter tour of the US in the fall.
